I have had the privilege of announcing the Stowe Raider games again this season. And Monday nights action did not let us down with so much on the line. The Raiders were attempting to take over the position of 2nd place in Div. 1 by defeating their opponent BFA St. Albans Bobwhites. After 2 periods of no score, BFA was able to break through for a 1 - 0 win dashing the hopes of the Raiders.
Reflecting on the games, Even with losses to the Essex Hornets and the So. Burlington Wolves….Stowe is still on the Bobwhites tail with 6 wins.
Stowe’s big obstacle this season is their new starting goalie who was just introduced to hockey a year ago. He is quickly learning and improving every game to keep the Raiders alive. Just like his performance Monday afternoon by turning aside 24 shots on goal letting only 1 in, in his efforts.
